Indicator Phrasing

English: % of trainees who enrolled but did not complete [specify the VET program]

French: % d’étudiants inscrits mais qui n’ont pas achevé [précisez le programme d’EFP]

Portuguese: % de formandos que se matricularam mas não concluíram [especifique o programa FEV]

What is its purpose?

The indicator assesses the percentage of participants who were enrolled in a given VET program at a given time period and did not complete the training.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

1) Review VET institutions’ documentation related to training enrolment, attendance and repetition to determine how many students have officially or unofficially stopped attending the training.

2) Calculate the indicator's value by dividing the number of students who did not complete the training by the number of students who enrolled in the training and multiplying the result by 100.

Disaggregate by

Consider disaggregating the data by the training type, trainees’ gender or according to a specific group of students (for example, students with disabilities).

Important Comments

1) If possible, it may also be useful to track the main reasons for dropping out, i.e. dropout rates by reason for dropping out.
