Indicator Phrasing

English: number of VET institutions that have updated labour market information

What is its purpose?

This indicator measures the number of VET institutions with the access to updated labour market information (LMI) that enables them to ensure the relevance of their vocational courses to the labour market’s needs.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

Determine the indicator's value by using the following methodology:

1) Interview a VET institution representative about availability of LMI. You should focus on whether they have relevant and recent (up to 3 years old) data on:

  > employment of their graduates from tracer studies;

  > current skill gaps faced by private sector/ employers;

  > labour market needs monitoring data conducted by local authorities

2) To calculate the indicator, include all VET institutions that have access to all 3 above mentioned sources of information (these criteria can be adjusted if required and well justified).

Important Comments

1) The indicator does not measure the extent to which LMI is being utilised by the VET institutions. Such measurement requires a separate indicator.
