What is its purpose?

The indicator assesses the extent to which the affected population is aware of the essential services offered by the humanitarian organizations and other non-profit service providers, such as child friendly spaces or legal services.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

1) In the questionnaire, list a limited number of the most essential services offered to the affected population, such as legal services, child friendly spaces, psychosocial counselling, etc.

2) Interview a representative sample of the affected population members (both women and men), asking:

RECOMMENDED SURVEY QUESTION (Q) AND POSSIBLE ANSWERS (A)

Q1: Can you please tell me what types of assistance humanitarian organizations offer to adults and children living in this area?

A1: indicate in the questionnaire all the services the respondent mentioned

Instruct the data collectors to keep probing, if the respondent does not list the minimum number of services: Are there any other services offered to adults or children living in this area?

3) Calculate the indicator’s value by dividing the number of people who were aware of the minimum number of services (e.g. at least 4 out of 7 services) by the total number of interviewed respondents. Multiply the result by 100.

Disaggregate by

Disaggregate the data by gender, age groups, wealth, and other vulnerabilities (e.g. belonging to a certain ethnic group).
